[M64 Pro Controller Firmware Changelog](https://tools.modretro.com/downloads/m64-controller/)

1.  Navigate to our [online update tool](http://tools.modretro.com/updater) and follow your OS-specific setup instructions.
    
2.  Insert a battery pack and power on your M64 Pro Controller.
    
3.  Connect your M64 Pro Controller to your computer using a USB cable.
    
    *   _Note: the M64 Console Power cable is power-only and not supported for this use._
    *   Press “Connect Device”
        
4.  If your controller does not connect, unplug it from the wired gameplay port and plug it back in.
    
5.  A browser dialog will appear. Select your M64 Controller, then press “Connect.”
    
    *   Ensure your controller does not say “Bootloader” as part of its name in the connection menu.

6.  Once connected, your controller appears in the Devices list. Press “Update” to begin.
    
7.  Wait until the update is complete. The update typically takes 2 to 3 minutes.
